Project Time

I love long weekends! They give me so much energy. That extra day stolen from work gives me a boost, and long forgotten projects some how get done.

Today in between errands I've been working on painting my front door. I started this project last summer during maternity leave but then life and work got in the way. I don't quite love the color I ended up with but at least I got rid of the brass kick plate and mail slot.

Did you know a new kick plate costs $40 at Home Depot and a mail slot almost that much? Instead of buying new, I sanded the ones that we had and spray painted them with some rustoleum I had left over from a different project. The paint for the door is what was left when we painted our shed two summers ago.
