Saving Money Challenge and Goals For Next Week

Frugal Makes Cents

I know I said I was busy at work last week, but this week showed me what busy really is.  So, my money saving pursuits were really more like I was too busy to spend any money type of things.  Here's what I've been up to:
  • My one month free trial of Netflix was over so I canceled it.  I'm happy to order what I want from the library.
  • While I was placing videos on hold from the library I saw they now have audio books that are compatible with the iPod, so I canceled my audible.com subscription too.  Between those two things, I saved $25 a month or $300 a year.
  • I checked in on the consignment store and they sent me a check for $24.  That's not terrible, but I'll do much better at the mom to mom sale in the Spring.
  • I roasted my turkey and put a bunch of meals in the freezer.  I'll post separately about that when I talk about the pantry challenge.
  • I haven't been to the pool this week, but I did walk 5x.
  • I almost have the first three chapters of my book typed to enter in this contest.  The deadline is Feb. 1st.  I hope I make it.
  • I worked from home one day which saves $14 on parking and train fair.  Working from home once a week can save me $728 a year.  That's huge!
  • I've been reading through a stack of library books as tall as my three year old.
Here are my goals for next week:
My goals for next week:
  • Walk 4x swim 1x
  • Get all of my handwritten pages typed up for the contest, and start on the proposal.
  • Make pizza dough, pizza sauce and rolls for the freezer.
  • Finish making Valentine's wreath for the front door.

You did so well with the money saving. I love that you cancelled the audible subscription and are saving so much money.
