Saving Money Challenge and Goals For Next Week

Frugal Makes Cents

Where did this month go?  Spring will be here before we know it -- although here in DC winter has barely started -- I shouldn't complain.

Here's what I've been up to as part of the 2012 Money Saving Challenge:
  • I dried all of our jeans downstairs on my line after I washed them.  There wasn't room for DD's bibs, so I dried those on the oven handle upstairs.
  • I made buns for our BBQ pulled pork dinner on Monday.  Of course I doubled the recipe so we'll have plenty for our BBQ turkey dinner next week.
  • I made two batches of pizza dough.  We ate one last night and will eat the other one in two weeks.  I like to use pizza dough within two weeks for freshness.  Even in the freezer I don't think it does very well after that.  If I want to keep it for more than two weeks I'll par bake it and freeze it like that.
  • Soap.com sent me a coupon code for $10 off any order.  Since they have free shipping at $39 it was worth my while to get my tide, downy wrinkle relaxer, ivory soap and a few other things there.  I don't know if I got the lowest prices ever, but it saved me a trip to Target.
  • I worked from home twice this week.
  • We've been watching movies from the library this week.
  • I made homemade tater tots for DD.
My goals for last week:
  • Walk 4x swim 1x
  • Get all of my handwritten pages typed up for the contest, and start on the proposal. (I'm getting there)
  • Make pizza dough, pizza sauce and rolls for the freezer.
  • Finish making Valentine's wreath for the front door.  (Haven't touched this)
Next week I'll be focusing on the writing contest I want to enter.  I'm really getting close, which is exciting!  I also want to keep up the walking and swimming.  After next week I hope I'll get to the wreath!

    2. Thanks for commenting on my page. Just had to come back and tell you that when you posted "Lucky" as your user name, I didn't realize who it was and just replied back. Then I went to your site and realized it was you :) I try and look for your list of goals each week on Money Saving Mom's link up because I really enjoy reading your goals! Thanks again!

  2. Thanks for the link for those tater tots. I haven't bought them in a long time because they are a bit pricy, but my son would love for me to make them again. :)

    Good luck accomplishing your goals!
