Why The Pantry Challenge Worked For Me

Rapidly rising prices and the excesses of the holidays left me without an understanding of what groceries actually cost now a days.  Sticking to a budget forced me to find out the actual costs, not what I remembered things costing last year.

Making room in my cabinets meant I could stock up on items we should be eating more of such as beans and oatmeal.

Adding the produce delivery back into our budget meant we ate a lot more fresh fruits and veggies, but also ate a better variety of meals on the whole.

Thinking about our food on a month-by-month basis instead of weekly made me more intentional with our freezer cooking.

I was a lot more creative with our meals in order to use up odds and ends.

And, of course, I brought our weekly grocery bills down, which saved us money.

  1. Awesome! I do that periodically, it's great to make sure you turnover your pantry and not waste anything.
